Stewards of The Standard
At Tribal Proving Ground, leadership carries a different name: The Cadre.
The Cadre are responsible for holding The Standard and protecting the meaning of the title Tribesman. They guide Candidates through preparation and lead Initiates through The FORGE.
Their authority is not built on volume, theatrics, or borrowed intensity.
It is built on responsibility.
The Cadre do not perform toughness. They teach, evaluate, correct, protect, and lead. They understand that pressure reveals a man, but pressure without purpose is only punishment.
The FORGE is demanding by design. The Cadre exist to make sure that demand is directed, disciplined, and worthy of what a man came to earn.
The Roles of The Cadre
To Teach
Resilience is not only tested in The FORGE. It is taught.
The Cadre give structure to the hardship. They help men understand how to keep moving when fatigue, doubt, and frustration rise.
A man is expected to bring effort.
The Cadre bring direction.
To Evaluate
The FORGE is not built on vague encouragement.
The Cadre watch how a man responds under pressure. They evaluate physical readiness, discipline, contribution, control, and the willingness to carry weight for the men beside him.
They do not evaluate a man’s worth.
They evaluate his readiness.
That distinction matters.
To Protect
The Cadre protect the men by protecting The Standard.
They enforce safety protocols, maintain order, and make hard decisions when the moment requires it.
False kindness has no place here.
Neither does recklessness.
The Cadre are responsible for making sure the work remains difficult without becoming careless, intense without becoming empty, and demanding without becoming degrading.
To Witness
A man does not become a Tribesman because he says he is ready.
He earns the title only after his effort, conduct, and contribution have been witnessed under pressure.
The Cadre help preserve that witness.
They are part of what makes the title real.
The roots of the standard
Tribal Proving Ground was founded by U.S. Navy veteran Tyus “Ty” Kemper, whose background spans clinical research and study in health and human performance.
The standard he built around was shaped by his own experience of what pressure, reliance, and earned brotherhood actually produce in a man.
The structure and physical evolutions of FORGE | 12 were built alongside Andrew Cece — a retired, combat-decorated U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Major and former Drill Instructor with 26 years of active duty service and multiple combat deployments.
Those roots exist for one reason: to ensure the pressure inside The FORGE has structure, purpose, and integrity — and that what a man earns here is worth earning.
Before, During, and After The FORGE
The responsibility of The Cadre does not begin and end when the clock starts.
Before The FORGE, they help define the path of preparation and make the requirements clear.
During The FORGE, they lead evolutions, enforce The Standard, protect the men, and observe how each Initiate carries himself under pressure.
After The FORGE, they help preserve the meaning of what was earned by maintaining the structure, language, and expectations of The Tribe.
The FORGE may last one hard day.
The stewardship of The Cadre lasts longer.
the line does not move
Not every man who begins the path is ready to enter The FORGE.
If a Candidate falls short, The Cadre do not lower the line to make the moment easier. They tell the truth and keep entry closed until the standards are met.
That is not rejection.
It is stewardship.
A man can train.
He can return.
He can meet the line when he is ready.
But the title of Tribesman must remain worth earning.
Held to The Standard
The Cadre are not above The Standard.
They are responsible to it.
Their conduct, judgment, preparation, and leadership must reflect the institution they represent. A man cannot be asked to respect The Standard if the men leading him do not carry it first.
The Cadre hold the line because they are also held by it.
That is how trust is built.
That is how The Tribe is protected.
